[DEADSHARK MOVIE REVIEW] NEW HORROR MOVIE: THE FOREST

WENT TO SEE THIS SHIT LAST NIGHT.  IT STARTED OFF OK, THE CHICK FROM GAME OF THRONES, NATALIE DORMER WAS PLAYING HERSELF.. AND HER SISTER IN THE MOVIE, AND IT WAS PRETTY OBVIOUS.  SOME PARTS OF THE MOVIE, SHE WAS GOOD, BUT IN THE SIMPLE SCENES, THE ONES YOU’D THINK WERE THE EASY SCENES.. LIKE… HAVING NORMAL CONVERSATIONS, SHE WAS AWKWARD AS FUUUUUGZ.  SHE GETS A C-.  THE BRO IN THE MOVIE, I GUESS IS ENGAGED TO LADY GAGA.. THEY NEVER REALLY CLEAR UP IF HE’S A GOOD GUY OR BAD GUY, OR IF SHE’S JUST GOING CRAZY OR WHATEVER CUZ OF THE SPOOKY FOREST.  BUT HE WAS OK.  A LITTLE THING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS SHIT, THE FOREST IS REAL.  ITS BASED ON AN ACTUAL PLACE WHERE A BUNCH OF JAPANESE PEOPLE GO COMMIT SUICIDE, WHICH IS PRETTY CRAZY.  ANYWAYS, THE MOVIE HAS SOME INTENSE SCENES THAT MAKE YOU JUMP, AND IT WRAPS UP DECENTLY, WHICH THESE DAYS, IS TOUGH TO DO APPARENTLY WITH HORROR MOVIES.   BUT OVERALL, THERE WAS A BUNCH OF SCENES THAT WERE JUST STUPID.  THEY WERE OBVIOUSLY PLACED TO BE SCARY, BUT MOST OF THEM WERE A RELIEF, BECAUSE YOU KNEW THEY WERE TRYING TO SCARE YOU… BUT THEY FAILED QUITE A FEW TIMES.

WOULD I RECOMMEND GOING TO GO SEE IT?  MAYBE.. IDK.. THERE’S A FEW GOOD MOVIES IN THE THEATERS RIGHT NOW, SO YOU COULD GO SEE STAR WARS OR THAT NEW LEO MOVIE WHERE HE’S BATTLING BEARS AND SHIT IN THE SNOWY WOODS.  WHEN IT COMES TO HORROR MOVIES, I ALWAYS SAY… IF YOU’RE GOING TO SEE IT, SEE IT IN THE MOVIES, SO YOU HAVE THE BIG SOUND AND PICTURE, SO IT CAN MAKE YOU JUMP.  YOU DON’T GET THAT SAME EXPERIENCE WATCHING THAT SHIT ON YOUR TV AT HOME.

When her twin sister disappears in Japan, a young American named Sara (Natalie Dormer) becomes determined to find out what happened to her. Sara’s investigation leads her to the legendary Aokigahara Forest, located at the base of Mount Fuji. Accompanied by expatriate Aiden, she enters the mysterious wilderness after being warned to “stay on the path.” Her investigation plunges her into a dark world where the angry and tormented souls of the dead prey on those who dare to explore the forest.
